Chatmate turns to be a Scammer

Are you addicted with those dating websites and cam-to-cam chatting? Beware you might be the next victim of these scammers and deceitful people.
It was charged to experience as others say.

I started joining these dating sites six months ago. For a first timer encountering and meeting guys online you feel “kilig factor” whether you’re a teenager, or late twenties. You are in a cloud nine when your friend admires you or pay attention to your post messages.

On the contrary you feel upset or dismay when you like a person to be with, but he/she doesn’t.  There was one time, I met this guy from “Tagged”.  He sent message, if  I want to be friend with him. I replied and gave my YM add.

It took us more or less than three weeks getting to know each. Chat thru cam-to-cam basis. Suddenly one day, out of the blue, he asked about my contact number and address.

I was puzzled why he wants to know my other info. Hesitation and anxiously I felt. He said, he wanted to give me some gift straight from his heart before his trip to Bahamas the following day.
Behind my mind, if he was just tricking me and testing me, it’s not my lost. Besides he was just a stranger who doesn’t know my whereabouts. But in the end, I gave my other info he wanted to know.

Then he emailed me. Upon reading and internalizing every detail, there I found out there’s something wrong. The agent and contact number indicated in the email sounds deceiving. The contact number especially the country code is not a real number of UK or Bahamas. Through adrenaline rush, I immediately sent an email.
Wouldn’t you believe it? After one day I received a spam message from Him. See the logic? After sending the gift (parcel) he will be leaving for Bahamas. So a journey from UK to Bahamas takes time or perhaps day. You will be busy travelling and won’t be able to update every email you had nor surf the net.
If the parcel was genuine, he will call me before and give the very details of it. He will make sure that the contact number I gave was really mine!

So in the end, the content of his message was, he called the logistic responsible for the parcel, cancelled the transaction and bid goodbye.
Whew!!!! What a surprised. Luckily I have this presence of mind and didn’t let myself fall into his bait.
