Two Faces in Welcoming Christmas

As Christmas is just around the corner, children caroling, family gatherings, reunions, and sumptuous "Noche Buena" are present in this memorable event  of the year.

Whether you are poor or well off, embracing Philippine tradition is like a cup of hot coffee offered in front of you.

On the other hand, last week an out breaking news regarding super Typhoon "Sendong" *Washi struck Philippine area of responsibility in particular areas in Mindanao. Iligan City, Cagayan de Oro and other affected areas were unused to typhoons. According to Media Corps, Sendong is the worse typhoon that hit Philippines this year.

Hundreds of Filipinos lost homes, spent Christmas in those selected evacuees centers, and thousands of people were missing mostly children.

We are hoping for speedy recovery of the victims and casualties of the recently aftermath of Typhoon Sendong.

As 2012, is just few days away, all of us are looking forward for a better and bountiful New Year. We may be upset about the outcome of our Christmas but bear in mind, celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ is not only by preparing delicious foods, receiving expensive gifts, showing new and expensive clothes rather it is the time for reflection, forgiving, and accepting Our Lord in our heart in preparation to this coming 2012.

  1. This is very disheartening! I do hope that people still find courage, hope and continue on living for there are still tomorrow. All I can do is to pray for them that God help them speed up the recovery mentally and spiritually. Godspeed to all who got affected!
